Style
This is your once in a lifetime moment and I believe in documenting your day as quietly and unobtrusively as possible.
For me, it's all about capturing the moments in-between the moments, using available light, form and composition.
Shooting professionally since the early 90's, I use the skills of a photojournalist to capture spontaneous moments on film. I'm a quiet observer, capturing in real time and don't create staged images. Shooting documentary, my inspiration and learning come from many photographers: Doisneau, Robert Frank, Don McCullin, Henri Cartier-Bresson, James Nachtwey and Jeff Ascough to name a few.
I've learned over the years to anticipate and react to the situation, always looking for a great 'moment'. Over time, I've just tried to develop a 'look' to my images that is mine.
I'm continuing to refine my style improving my images constantly. My photographs capture the emotional bonds between family and friends, shooting predominately with natural light and little or no flash. I do capture some group/formal photos, usually six to ten different group photos..
At the end of the day, you'll have a beautiful album with pages of gorgeous color and black and white images to cherish for the rest of your lives.
